Solo Jazz Build-Up on Thursday

You know the ABC steps, you know some of the famous routines (at least in theory). If you are dancing Lindy, you are not scared of dropping some stomps or a shorty george, you can handle a break-away. You might even find yourself trading phrases with a friend at a social. But you want to get to the root of the matter and make yourself a better (solo) dancer. We will work on phrasing, rhythms and accents, improvisation and more steps. We will watch some vintage clips. More importantly, we will see how you can find your own steps and work toward your personal style. We will also try to ease ourselves in the social aspect of solo jazz, especially in terms of sharing and dancing alone together.
